What’s At Stake…

“When we are talking about potentially committing tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to subsidize the traffic from a developer’s proposed private project, we need to fully understand the facts and the costs.”  -Councilman Kenneth Oliver

"These roads can't handle the (expected) traffic. You'd have to be a moron to think that the roads can handle that kind of traffic." -Sen. Bobby Zirkin

"The intersection of Reisterstown and Painters Mill Road is “one of the worst traffic bottlenecks in Baltimore County.”-Governor Martin O’Malley

What's the Rush on Solo Cup?

We shouldn’t abandon the County Master Plan without a transparent and informed process.

With hundreds of millions of tax dollars and 40 years of smart growth and master planning at stake, why is the Baltimore County Council rushing approval of a new retail center that violates the County Master Plan when not one state traffic or environmental impact study has been completed?

What you can do. . .

Ask the County Council to wait for important studies to be completed, instead of rushing to a decision on rezoning Solo Cup because of pressure from developers and stakeholders.

Although the Council vote on rezoning is August 28, they can “Say No” to rezoning now and put this project on hold until its full impact is understood.
