SUBJECT: Rezoning for Wegman Market
Dear: Chairwoman Almond
This letter is to inform you that we the citizens of the Second District, Gwynnvale Community Civic Association, incorporated are opposed to a change in zoning at Painters Mill Road and Reisterstown Road location of Solo Cup Company. After having an official meeting at the Pikesville Library on March 29, 2012 it was unanimously agreed upon that a Wegman Market at the aforementioned location would not be in the best interest of our community.
We find that we have more then sufficient grocery stores with in several miles of this location to serve not only our community but also the greater portion of the 2nd District and all of your constituents. Additionally, I would add that the vehicle traffic flow at this location is already overburdened and it is extremely difficult most of the time to transverse Reisterstown Road at this location.
The redevelopment of the Owings Mill Shopping Mall we feel is a more viable choice; presently this site is not being fully used. There are major advantages as well as opportunities in upgrading this site and providing our communities a decent shopping mall in close proximity to our homes.
Your consideration in this matter when final discussion is held involving this matter is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Dr. Harold Hart
President, Gwynnvale Civic Community Association, Inc.
